Gabriel Ibitoye: Bristol Bears winger signs new contract

by

Bristol winger Gabriel Ibitoye has signed a new “long-term” contract with the Prem club.

Ibitoye was the joint top try-scorer in the league during 2024-25 with 13 – also a new club record – and he has scored 31 tries in 62 games for the Bears.

The 27-year-old returned to the pitch for Bristol’s win against Exeter last weekend, having not played since the opening Prem game of the season where he suffered a “complex” hamstring injury which required surgery.

Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam said Ibitoye had been a “hugely important” player for the team since he signed in 2022-23.

“He has outstanding physical qualities – power, speed and athleticism – but what truly sets him apart is his skill level, work rate and understanding of the game,” Lam said.

“He has a genuine hunger to improve and get better every day.

“Gabs works incredibly hard both on and off the field, and that mindset gives him enormous potential to continue developing within our programme.”
