As No. 8 Iowa women’s basketball (18-2, 9-0 Big Ten) prepares for its Jan. 29 clash against USC (11-9, 3-6 Big Ten) from the Galen Center in Los Angeles, the Hawkeyes have revealed their game-day availability report.
According to the report, Iowa sophomore wing Emely Rodriguez will miss her 15th straight game. Rodriguez is joined by senior forward Jada Gyamfi, who is still recovering from a knee procedure performed in December.

While not listed on the injury report, senior guard Taylor McCabe is out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn left ACL in the Hawkeyes’ Jan. 25 win over Ohio State.
As for USC, the Trojans will be without junior guard Malia Samuels, who averages 3.5 points on 33.3% shooting, alongside 2.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 19 contests this season.
JuJu Watkins is listed as out for the season, which is a result of her declaring that she’ll sit out the 2025-26 campaign as she recovers from her ACL tear suffered on March 24, 2025.
Thursday night’s contest between the Hawkeyes and Trojans from the Galen Center in downtown Los Angeles is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. and will be streamed exclusively on Peacock.
