Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink played only 15 games in her rookie season in 2024 due to a knee injury. During a June game against the Connecticut Sun, Brink suffered a torn ACL in her left knee, which required surgery.
Brink was an early Defensive Player of the Year candidate, averaging 2.3 blocks per game, before the setback ended her season. It took her 13 months to get back to the WNBA, suiting up against the Las Vegas Aces on July 29, 2025.

Now, amid the WNBA offseason, Brink is playing in the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled. She’s part of the new club Breeze BC, which also features Sparks teammate Rickea Jackson, along with Paige Bueckers, Kate Martin, Dominique Malonga and Aari McDonald.
During Thursday’s practice for their game in Philadelphia, Brink showed that she has fully recovered from her previous knee injury. She attempted to dunk the ball and succeeded, hyping up her teammates and the team staff.

Brink shared the moment on her Instagram Stories, where she admitted that it’s the first time she has tried to dunk a basketball since her torn ACL.
“Haven’t tried to dunk since I hurt my knee,” Brink wrote, along with an emoji of a face holding back tears. “today was the day!!!”
It’s easy to understand why Brink was cautious about dunking before. After all, it has only been six months since she returned to competitive basketball. It’s natural for any player coming back from injury to not overexert their body.

Brink is putting up 11.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game in Unrivaled this season, so it’s clear that she’s fully healthy. If there were any concerns about her knee, she certainly erased all worries with her dunk.
