Clemson (17-4, 7-1 ACC) will face off against Pitt (9-12, 2-6) ACC in Littlejohn on January 31st at noon EST.
The Tigers are coming off a week’s rest following a nice road win in Atlanta at Georgia Tech. They sit at second in the ACC, just behind Duke, looking to stay ahead of both NC State and Virginia. The Georgia Tech victory marked Clemson’s 12th straight in conference road win, the fourth longest in the history of the ACC.
Last time they played, Clemson beat the Panthers 73-68 in Pittsburgh. Jestin Porter put up 21 points on 8/12 shooting, and big men Nick Davidson and RJ Godfrey combined for 28 points.
This is the second of four consecutive games for the Tigers against teams below .500 in the ACC. With the recent loss to NC State, it is imperative that Clemson hold on to that one-game lead over the Wolfpack. Clemson will see Virginia Tech and Duke back-to-back following this lighter stretch, and still has Louisville and UNC back-to-back later in the season. The Tigers need to avoid any Quad 3 loss as they build their tournament resume, and a win Saturday would go a long way.
