Vaibhav Suryavanshi departs after a good start; Ayush Mhatre follows with a duck

Pakistan started off with their pace bowling pair, and Mohammad Sayyam took up the new ball alongside Ali Raza. As Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered in the power play, Sayyam returned to bowl the 8th over of the Indian batting innings.

On the third ball of the over, he skied one delivery, and according to their reputation, the Pakistanis dropped the catch. Then they had a chance to run him out, as it was complete chaos in the middle. Huzaifa had missed the catch and the run-out opportunity as well.

However, the drama ended in the very next ball, as Pakistan pulled off a classic. Sayyam went short on this occasion as well, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who swivelled into a pull shot, gets a faint edge only to be caught by Hamza Zahoor diving to his right.

Ayush Mhatre, the Indian skipper, then came out on the pitch and was dismissed after facing 2 balls. India seemed near to another collapse with their two crucial heads back in the dugout.

Vedant Trivedi backs the Indian innings with a half-century

India made a good start to their innings with young Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashing a stunning 22-ball 30; however, when the dynamic batter was dismissed, the captain followed him in the same over.

Vedant Trivedi then came out to bat and had to consolidate the team’s chances with a good innings in the middle order. Aaron George was also dismissed shortly, while Vihaan Malhotra failed to continue on the good start he made with 21 runs.

A lot of it now depends on two dashing cricketers, Vedant Trivedi, who reached his half-century of 74 balls and built on a partnership with batter Abhigyan Kundu.

Will Pakistan U19 be able to crush India’s winning streak in the U19 World Cups?

Pakistan U19 have not defeated the India U19 team in recent times, while on the other hand, the current Pakistan Under-19 team has gone on to dominate the Men in Blue team in Youth cricket. They recently won the Youth Asia Cup final, defeating the Indians.

India started their winning streak over the Pakistan U19 team back in 2012 when they won by a single run in the Quarter-finals. They then won in 2014 and 2018 knockouts as well, when they played against Pakistan. The two teams are levelled on 5 wins each in 10 meetings in the ICC U19 World Cup.

The match between India and Pakistan U19 teams will be followed by the semi-finals of the competition and then the Final which will be played between Bulawayo and Harare on the 3rd, 4th and 6th of February.
