Florida State women crushed at Clemson despite big game by Sole Williams

Florida State women’s basketball just couldn’t keep up with the Clemson Tigers , leading to a 77-58 defeat on Sunday Feb. 1 at the Littlejohn Coliseum.

The game marked back-to-back ACC losses for FSU (7-15, 2-8 ACC). While the Seminoles struggled against the Tigers (16-7, 7-4), Sole Williams had a career night, scoring 23 points. She also added four rebounds and two assists.

The junior guard shot 50% from the field, knocking down 9 of her 18 shots. In the first half, Williams was 4-for-4 in shooting, half of which were from behind the arc.

Williams was the Seminoles who finished in double figures. However, Tatum Greene led with nine rebounds to go along with her seven points.

Clemson had a dominant first half, taking a 42-27 lead. The Tigers maintained control of the game when they extended their lead to 60-41 in the fourth quarter.

What’s next for FSU basketball

FSU will be back on the road as it travels to Raleigh, North Carolina, to take NC State. Tipoff is set for Thursday at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC Network.

Then the Seminoles will return to the Donald L. Tucker Center to host its rival, Miami, on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.
