Notre Dame football had some coaching holes to fill with a few recent departures, and the first domino happened on Sunday with the expected hire of Illinois Aaron Henry to take over the secondary and be co-defensive coordinator with Chris Ash.
The second looks to have fallen on Monday afternoon, as CBS Sports Matt Zenitz is reporting that the Irish are expected to hire Michigan’s linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary. While this hire isn’t complete yet, it’s looking like another home run hire by head coach Marcus Freeman.

Jean-Mary has been with the Wolverines for the last two seasons as their linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator and was at Tennessee before that. He was with the Volunteers for three seasons as their linebackers coach.
In this coming season, Notre Dame has seen plenty of turnover on the defensive side of the ball, but with Ash returning, the foundation is still there. The recent expected additions of Henry and Jean-Mary will only strengthen the program.
