The two quarterbacks set to battle on the field Sunday at Super Bowl 60, enjoy the gloved sort of gun-slinging contests as well.
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold both watch the UFC from afar and were asked Monday by Knockout Radio during Super Bowl 60 Opening Night who their favorite fighters are.

“There’s a lot of great fighters out there,” Darnold said. “It’s tough not to say Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor is a great fighter. I just remember in college getting together and watching his fights with all of my buddies. He’s always a fun entertainer as well when he gets that microphone.”
Neither name-drop was a deep cut. Darnold seemed a bit stuck on his answer, whereas Maye seemed to have a name immediately on the tip of his tongue.
“Who’s my favorite fighter?” Maye said. “Sean O’Malley. I’m a big fan of ‘Suga’ Sean. I’m a big MMA fan. Jon Jones. I love watching Jon Jones. I love watching a lot of the guys. I know the fights are late night, but in the offseason, I stay up and watch them.”
Super Bowl 60 takes place Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
