AEW National Champion Ricochet just went scorched earth on former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas—and he’s not apologizing for a word of it.
On February 5, 2026, Korderas took to Twitter to respond to Ricochet’s recent comments blasting WWE’s treatment of talent. Ricochet had claimed WWE “kills legacies and love of the sport,” and cited stars like Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Apollo Crews as fellow victims of creative and emotional burnout. Korderas wasn’t having it and said Ricochet’s comments made him look bad.
“He stayed 5+ years and re-signed in 2022. If it was really that miserable, he could’ve asked for his release, he didn’t. Name-dropping guys who also chose to stay for years and ‘speaking for them’ is bush league. This makes him look bad, not the company he’s constantly trashing.”
Ricochet fired back with a furious, profanity-laced response on Twitter—denying he ever re-signed and accusing WWE of trapping him in a contract despite his desire to leave.
“Jimmy shut the f*** up you old ass c*** idiot. I signed ONE contract in 2019 for 5 years. It was up in 2024 and I left. No resign no 2nd contract. I did ask for my release. They denied it and made me IC champ knowing I said I didn’t want it. So maybe a little bit of research before you use your c*** sucker to say some stupid s***.”
The explosion capped off a heated 48 hours for Ricochet, who had already taken to Twitter on February 4 to accuse WWE of damaging his career and draining his love for wrestling. He said his time in WWE turned him into a “shell” of himself, and that “they took my love of pro wrestling away.”
“I do feel this way. And MANY others do as well. That company kills the love and you end up being a shell of who you were and going through the motions.”
Korderas’s tweet struck a nerve—particularly his suggestion that Ricochet was “constantly trashing” a company that he willingly remained with. Ricochet’s response not only denied the re-signing claim, but accused WWE of knowingly forcing him into title programs he didn’t want in order to lock him down.
Now in AEW, Ricochet made it clear he’s rediscovered the version of himself fans originally fell in love with on the indies and in Japan—and if this week proves anything, it’s that he’s not staying quiet about what he endured to get here.
