We’re inching closer and closer to March and another week of SEC Women’s Basketball is in the books.
Kim Mulkey and the LSU women’s basketball squad took a hit this week, falling on the road at Texas. LSU was looking for a season sweep of the Longhorns after LSU beat Texas in Baton Rouge last month, but Texas got revenge in Austin and the powerhouse programs split the season series at 1-1.

South Carolina sits atop the conference standings with a 9-1 SEC record, but Tennessee is right there at 7-1. The Vols and Gamecocks will play on Sunday for sole possession of first place.
LSU sits at No. 5, joined by Ole Miss with three SEC losses. Overall, the Tigers are 21-3 on the year and still in position to claim a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament if they can win pivotal games down the stretch. LSU has a big one next week, hosting South Carolina in Baton Rouge.
At the bottom of the conference, Arkansas remains the only program without an SEC win.
This continues to be a strong year for the SEC, and the conference will send a handful of teams to the NCAA Tournament.
