Holger Rune doesn't see anything wrong in Serena Williams promoting a weight-loss drug as the Dane believes the WTA icon is actually doing a good thing by candidly speaking about her weight-loss journey.
After publicly revealing last summer that she had turned to Ro!, Williams appeared in a Super Bowl ad for the same GLP-1 product. In the ad, the 44-year-old shared that she had lost 34 pounds (15kg) since starting to use the product and also stated that she felt "healthier."

In one of her interviews from August, Williams said that before Ro!, all of her attempts to get to her desired body weight were unsuccessful.
To no one's surprise, Williams' Super Bowl ad drew lots of attention. And some of the reactions were negative as critics took issue with the former 23-time Grand Slam champion promoting a weight-loss drug.
On X, one user wrote: "One of the greatest athletes in the world is shamelessly now promoting weight loss drugs? I fear (probably meant feel) truly saddened by this, nobody should be encouraging people to take weight loss drugs, but especially a role model and icon of sport. I fear for the future."
Rune: Williams achieved her personal goals and it is great that she isn't pretending that it happened overnight
Rune noticed the post and opined: "Being overweight comes with a health risk, like alcohol and seeking help to overcome personal challenges is always the right thing to do. I think it’s great that Serena Williams don’t pretend it just happened overnight but openly inform about what she did to achieve her personal goals in terms of her body. There is not one right or wrong way here, there is only the way that is good for you and we should not shame on this."

Throughout her life and career, Williams has done things her own way and she probably won't be bothered too much by the negative comments surrounding her Ro! ad.
