BATON ROUGE – This past week, LSU women’s basketball went 1-1.

The Tigers (22-3, 8-3 SEC) lost on the road to No. 4 Texas in a competitive game that was close in the fourth quarter. LSU bounced back after that defeat and routed Auburn by 33 points last Sunday.

Would a road loss to a top-5 team bump Kim Mulkey and her team down in this week’s rankings? Turns out, it was enough to see the Tigers drop one spot to No. 6 in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday.
