Coveted blue-chip wide receiver Khalil Taylor sets two new official visits

by

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Pine-Richland four-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor is one of the top prospects at his position nationally after a huge junior season.

The one-time Penn State commit was a touchdown machine in 2025, hauling in 33 passes for 571 yards (17.3 YPC) and 16 touchdowns — nearly one score every two times he touched the ball. Since he decommitted from the Nittany Lions in October after James Franklin’s firing, Taylor has drawn heavy interest from across the country.

Last month, he told BlueWhiteIllustrated that in addition to Penn State, he was being courted by the likes of Georgia, Nebraska, Oregon and Syracuse. He took visits to Athens and State College last month and is now beginning to lock in his official visits.

The Nittany Lions will host him June 5-7, he announced a few weeks ago. On Wednesday he added two more: Georgia the weekend of May 29-31 and Vanderbilt from May 15-17.

Kirby Smart and Co. have been on him heavily since his decommitment and finally got him to campus a few weeks ago.

“I talk to them every day,” he told Rivals’ Chad Simmons in early January. “They’re always in contact. Georgia is a big brand, and they let me know they’re serious about me and really want me.”

Penn State’s new staff connecting well with Taylor

The Bulldogs will have to overcome the local connection to Penn State, as well as a budding relationship with the new coaching staff under Matt Campbell. Taylor has been a top target since Campbell took over and loved the energy around the program during his visit last month.

“I mean, the love man. I love this new staff,” Taylor told BWI about his junior day visit. “They are very caring, and they bring a different type of energy. I asked some players about the new staff and they said they love them as well. Like, they are super hyped for this season.

… Also, I liked the things I went over with Coach [Noah] Pauley. He showed me a lot and he’s a great coach, a great developer and a great man. He was just basically just showing me how they would use me in the offense, and I like what I saw.”

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound playmaker is ranked by Rivals as the No. 65 overall prospect and No. 12 wide receiver in the 2027 class.
