The Texas Tech women’s basketball team had one game last week before the latest round of March Madness bracketology came out.

That was a 85-61 road win at Houston, which remains in last place in the Big 12. The Lady Raiders fought off Kansas 70-65 on Tuesday, but that came after weekly projections for the NCAA Tournament.

ESPN: 6-seed (Fort Worth Region)

The Lady Raiders remain a No. 6 seed for Charlie Creme in his sixth projection in a row. The good news for Tech fans is he has the team in a Fort Worth Region, meaning if the Lady Raiders advanced to the second weekend, they’d play within driving distance.

That isn’t so much the case in the opening weekend, which has Tech in Iowa City with host Iowa as the No. 3 seed. Creme has the Lady Raiders facing a play-in 11 seed of Stanford or Virginia Tech. Projected Southland Conference champion McNeese rounds out the group as a 14 seed.

The Lady Raiders are 3-0 in Quad 1 games, with road wins at Baylor and West Virginia, in addition to a home win over TCU. Tech is 3-2 in Quad 2 after picking up a home win over Kansas on Tuesday. The other wins are Mississippi State (home) and Utah (road), with losses at BYU and home against Iowa State.
