Michigan State vs. Wisconsin: Broadcast info, prediction for Friday

by

‘Madtown’ will be a madhouse on Friday night, and the Spartans are hoping they can come out of that frenzy with a marquee road win.

Michigan State basketball travels to hot Wisconsin for a nationally televised game on Friday night. This is the third straight week the Spartans are playing a marquee nationally televised game on either Friday or Saturday night, with Michigan State splitting the first two.

Michigan State comes into this matchup off arguably its best win of the season in their last game against Illinois last weekend. The Spartans rallied in the second half to beat the Fighting Illini and snap a two-game losing skid. Following the win over Illinois, Michigan State is 20-4 overall and 10-3 in Big Ten play on the year.

Similarly, Wisconsin comes into this big-time matchup off a massive win earlier this week against Illinois as well. The Badgers rallied from a 12-point deficit late to stun the Fighting Illini on the road, and improve to 17-7 overall and 9-4 in Big Ten play.

Prepare for this game by checking out the television info and my game prediction below:

Prediction: Wisconsin 77, Michigan State 72

This feels like a true toss-up game, and in these instances I will almost always take the home team (especially if they have a strong home court advantage like the Badgers do). If the Spartans can avoid a poor start and limit the turnovers, then I like their chances to be in this until the end and rely on Jeremy Fears Jr. to make some winning plays. But if they get off to poor start, then that’ll be a tough hole to climb out of. I’m not sure which Michigan State we’ll get so I’m going with the safest option of riding the home team.
