BATON ROUGE, LA — South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley was unfazed by the LSU crowd booing her the last time she was in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, Louisiana and now she’s having fun in honor of her trip back.
Staley was asked Jan. 25, 2024, after the 76-70 win about the crowd with the question suggesting they weren’t friendly to Staley, but she said, “Actually they were, they were calling me boo.”

Staley and her entire staff are wearing hoodies that say “Boo” for the game on Feb. 14 (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
South Carolina is 8-12 in the series against LSU in Baton Rouge and has won the last 17 straight games overall.
The No. 3 Gamecocks (24-2, 10-1 SEC) last beat the No. 6 Tigers (22-3, 8-3) on Jan. 24, 2025, in Columbia, and the two didn’t meet again in the postseason, which means this is their first meeting since last year.
LSU now has guard MiLaysia Fulwiley, who transferred from South Carolina in April 2025 after two seasons.
