Kentucky went into Gainesville yesterday as a major underdog, and despite showing some fight, fell to maybe the hottest team in the country right now in the Florida Gators.
It was a tough loss, especially considering the SEC standings and the opportunity to earn a massive win for the NCAA Tournament resume, but Kentucky has a lot of big games down the stretch, so it’s time to put that game in the rear view and look ahead to Tuesday, when Kentucky welcomes the Georgia Bulldogs to Rupp Arena.

The Bulldogs have hit a skid since starting SEC play. They dominated their non-conference slate, albeit one that was far from difficult. The Bulldogs have a 5-7 mark in SEC play marred with inconsistency. On one hand, they own victories over Auburn and Arkansas, and a road win at Missouri. They also lost at home to Ole Miss and were dominated in the second half by Oklahoma yesterday.
One thing about the Bulldogs though: they can score the basketball. Georgia comes in averaging 90.8 points per game, second in the SEC only behind Alabama’s 91.9 points per game and 5th nationally. The Bulldogs play fast, averaging the most field goal attempts per game in the conference and are third in three-point attempts, despite shooting just under 32 percent from deep.
The Cats need to get a win Tuesday to keep pace in the ultra-competitive SEC, but have a challenge ahead against a Bulldogs team in need of another signature win.
