Since the start of February, UConn women’s basketball star Azzi Fudd has taken her game to another level.

The redshirt senior guard was crowned the back-to-back Big East Player of the Week on Monday, averaging 22 points, three rebounds and three steals shooting 66.7% from 3-point range across the Huskies’ wins over Creighton and Marquette last week. Fudd had a well-rounded showing in UConn’s 50-point rout of the Bluejays with 19 points, four boards, four assists and two steals, then led the team at Marquette with 25 points and four steals. Fudd has logged three of her eight 20-point performances this season since Feb. 1, and she has shot above 62% from beyond the arc with at least three makes in four the last five games.

This is Fudd’s fourth Player of the Week honor this season and the sixth of her career. A UConn player has earned the recognition 11 times in 2025-26 with star forward Sarah Strong accumulating six and sophomore guard Allie Ziebell adding one. The last time a non-UConn player won the award was Jan. 5.

Fudd is on the top 10 shortlist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award given to the nation’s best shooting guard, and she was also named one of the top 20 candidates for the Wooden Award. The Huskies star is averaging career highs in nearly every statistical category this season with 17.8 points, three assists and 2.4 steals per game.

Fudd is also flirting with 50/40/90 shooting splits, currently hitting 49.5% from the field, 46.3% on 3-pointers and 94.9% at the free throw line. She ranks sixth in the country in made 3-pointers and in 3-point percentage, and she has the highest percentage of any player with at least 80 makes from the perimeter.
