A little over a month ago, 2027 four-star defensive lineman Zane Rowe placed the Oregon Ducks within his top three schools alongside the Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs, the closer options for the Denton, TX, native.
On Wednesday, Rivals reported that Rowe has released a commitment date of March 13, with a different set of finalists than previously believed. Oregon and Oklahoma are still among the final four, but TCU has been bumped out for North Carolina and Washington.

Rowe is worth the push for all four programs, as he’s the No. 12 edge and No. 90 player overall in the 2027 class per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for Denton Guyer High School and is the No. 11 player in the state of Texas.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder visited Eugene on Jan. 24 and apparently liked what he saw, as Oregon is considered among the favorites to land his commitment on March 13.
Rowe spoke with Rivals on what he enjoyed about the program, first lauding their business connections on the West Coast before diving into their development on the field.
“They also have great development,” Rowe said. “They have two DE going in the first round and another coming back for his senior year, so the depth chart is playing a big role. They’re recruiting my family and me, and came to visit me at school and showed my parents and me the plan. They showed their track record with Texas guys like Dakorien Moore. For them to come to DFW and then go play in Eugene, that’s the furthest you can go from Texas, so if you have success and thrive there, it’s a big deal to me.”

It would be a big deal if head coach Dan Lanning could land a commitment from Rowe, who would immediately be the top-ranked player in the Ducks‘ 2027 class that features just one other four-star, though Cameron Pritchett is the No. 21 edge as opposed to Rowe’s No. 11 ranking.
