Kentucky Football is ramping up its quarterback recruiting efforts in the class of 2027, and one name quickly rising to the top of the board is 3-star Illinois quarterback Jake Nawrot.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect has seen his recruitment heat up, holding offers from programs such as Boston College, Duke, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and others. Now, the Wildcats have entered the mix.

Nawrot said the Kentucky offer meant a great deal to him, especially at this stage of his recruiting process.

“I felt very blessed to get an offer from them and super thankful they are willing to take a chance on me,” he told me on Monday.

The Wildcats recently lost their lone quarterback commitment in the 2027 class, and Nawrot confirmed that Kentucky has made contact with him.

“They have expressed their interest in me and are excited to recruit me,” he added.

The junior quarterback is also planning to get a closer look at the program.

“Me and my family are planning to attend a spring practice coming up,” Nawrot said, giving Kentucky an important opportunity to make a firm impression during a pivotal stretch of his recruitment.

As for his decision timeline, Nawrot hopes to commit within the next few months.

“Sometime this spring is when I’m hoping to make a decision (April–May), but nothing is confirmed,” he said.

Kentucky has also offered several other top quarterbacks in the 2027 class, including 5-star Louisiana standout Elijah Haven, 4-star Illinois product Israel Abrams, 4-star Texas passer Colton Nussmeier, 4-star Tennessee quarterbacks Andre Adams and Keegan Croucher.

With communication just beginning and a visit on deck, Nawrot has emerged as a name to watch moving into the spring.
