Former Lady Vols basketball guard Ruby Whitehorn has transferred to Arizona State, she announced Feb. 20.
Whitehorn was dismissed from the team on Nov. 2 after facing two legal issues in a three-month span. The 6-foot guard transferred to Tennessee ahead of coach Kim Caldwell’s first season and played for the Lady Vols for one season before her suspension and subsequent dismissal.

Whitehorn posted several photos of her in practice at Arizona State, though she won’t be eligible to play in games until the 2026-27 season. Molly Miller has led the Sun Devils to a 21-7 record in her first season as coach.
“I’m here to help young people,” Miller told On3.com. “Our culture gives Ruby an opportunity to grow and I believe she can be the best version of herself in this environment.”
