Neal (16-7 MMA, 8-5 UFC) returns after a brutal knockout loss to Carlos Prates at UFC 319 last August. After making changes in his personal life, Neal aims to regain consistency that has eluded him in recent years amid health issues.

Medic (12-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) will look to win three straight for the first time during his UFC tenure. He’s won twice before and comes into this contest after back-to-back first-round stoppages of Gilbert Urbina and Muslim Salikhov.

The co-main event in Houston features a southpaw vs. southpaw showdown between Geoff Neal and Uros Medic.
Neal, who looks in career-best shape coming into this fight, has made some serious changes since we last saw him in the cage. He’s also the more experienced and proven product by a good stretch, but Neal still can’t afford to sleep on this counterpart this Saturday.

Medic may be nowhere near Carlos Prates as far as elite skills go, but the Serbian striker has shown similar weapons as far as the spinning attacks and counter-balancing crosses that “The Nightmare” found success with when he faced Neal.
Still, it’s hard to ignore Medic’s glass cannon-like sensibilities in a fight that will feature a potent two-way street of striking violence.
Add in the fact that Neal, who has a slightly better record against fellow southpaws at 2-1, appears to be a more complete striker in closed-stance affairs, and I can’t help but side with the Fortis MMA standout to get back on track with a win this weekend.
