With the college football offseason in full swing, the Texas Longhorns have been making headlines. On Friday, that continued as they received an encouraging update regarding Isaiah Udom. The 2027 prospect set his official visit to Austin from June 12–14.
Although the talented defensive back is only a three-star recruit, he has drawn interest nationwide. During the recruiting process, Udom has also received offers from Baylor, Florida, Houston, Missouri, Penn State, and SMU. That list should continue to grow over the next few months.
As Udom has made headlines with his play, he has also added to his trophy case. He played a huge role this past season in helping Dallas South Oak Cliff win its third state championship in five years. With the Longhorns target setting the tone in the secondary, the Bears were not an easy team to face.

If the Dallas native were to pick the Longhorns, he would be part of a talented 2027 class. Steve Sarkisian and his staff have already secured commitments from four-star wide receiver Easton Royal, three-star edge Cameron Hall, and three-star tight end JT Geraci. They also have a visit set up with four-star recruit Trenton Yancey who will be in Austin at the same time as Udom.
While the Longhorns have made their interest in Udom clear, they are also in the mix for some of the top players still on the board. They have extended offers to four-star recruits such as Tyson Robinson, Caden Waye, Nick Lennear, Brock Williams, and Kennedy Brown. Even with those players still on the board, Texas has a top ten class.
Over the next few months, Udom will continue weighing his options. However, when he is Austin, the rising star will get to envision what a career as a Longhorn could hold.
