The UFC’s return to Texas was a slow burn, but ultimately UFC Fight Night 267 at Toyota Center in Houston ended on a compelling high.

Former middleweight champion Sean Strickland (29-7 MMA, 16-7 UFC) captured the night’s biggest moment when he dominated Anthony Hernandez (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) en route to a third-round TKO, potentially setting him up for a title grudge match showdown with Khamzat Chimaev.

Debuting fighters went 1-1 at the event.

Strickland, Uros Medic, Melquizael Costa and Jacobe Smith earned $100,000 UFC Fight Night 267 fight-night bonuses. Joselyne Edwards earned $25,000 finish bonuses.

UFC Fight Night 267 drew an announced attendance of 17,160 for a live gate of $3,300,000.

Betting favorites went 10-4 on the card.

Sean Strickland vs. Anthony Hernandez

Strickland improved to 8-4 since he returned to the UFC middleweight division in October 2020.

Medic’s five knockout victories since 2021 in UFC competition are tied with Carlos Ulberg for second-most among active fighters in the weight class behind Michal Oleksiejczuk (six).

Melquizael Costa def. Dan Ige

Costa’s (27-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) seven-fight winning streak at featherweight is the third-longest active streak I the division behind Lerone Murphy (nine) and Movsar Evloev (eight).

Costa has earned four of his seven UFC victories by stoppage.

Costa earned the sixth knockout in UFC history stemming from a spinning back kick to the head. Renan Barao, Uriah Hall, Magomed Mustafaev, Joaquin Buckley, and Natalia Silva also accomplished the feat.

Dan Ige (19-11 MMA, 11-10 UFC) suffered the first stoppage loss of his career with a knockout defeat.

Serghei Spivac def. Ante Delija

Serghei Spivac (18-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) has landed 32 takedowns in UFC heavyweight competition, the third-most in divisional history behind Curtis Blaydes (62) and Cain Velasquez (34).

Jacobe Smith def. Josiah Harrell

Jacobe Smith (12-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has earned 10 of his 12 career victories by stoppage.

Josiah Harrell (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his 11-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career.

Michel Pereira def. Zach Reese

Michel Pereira (31-14 MMA, 10-5 UFC) improved to 4-3 since he moved up to the middleweight division in October 2023.
