Northwestern Lands 2027 Verbal From CIF State Finalist Kealan Tupper

NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Kealan Tupper has announced his verbal commitment to Northwestern University. Tupper, who specializes in freestyler, butterfly and IM, will join the Wildcats in Fall 2027.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m extremely honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Northwestern University! Thank you to Coach Rachel and all of the other amazing NU coaches for this incredible opportunity. Also a huge shoutout to all of the coaches I have had over the years, especially Coach Steve and Coach Joe. Finally thank you to my family and teammates who have supported me on this journey. Go ‘Cats!!!”

Tupper does his club swimming with Pleasanton Seahawks and won the B-final of the 400 IM at Juniors West back in December before going on to final in four events at Walnut Speedo Sectionals the following week. Last summer, Tupper competed at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:38.52
  • 500 free – 4:27.43
  • 200 back – 1:48.85
  • 200 fly – 1:49.60
  • 200 IM – 1:48.82
  • 400 IM – 3:50.19

Currently a junior at Amador Valley High School, Tupper placed 14th in the 200 IM at the 2025 CIF State Championships after taking fifth in that event at the CIF North Coast Section Championships.

Northwestern placed seventh at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. Tupper would’ve qualified for the C-final in the 400 IM at last year’s conference meet.
