Angel Reese has continued to solidify herself as one of the WNBA’s premier young stars since entering the league as the No. 7 overall pick by the Chicago Sky in 2024.
As a rookie, she averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, quickly emerging as one of the league’s most dominant rebounders. She followed that up with an even stronger second season, posting 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, leading the league in rebounding and double-doubles while anchoring Chicago’s frontcourt.

Despite her production, injuries disrupted her 2025 campaign. Back soreness sidelined her for stretches of the season and ultimately forced her to miss part of the final run-in.

As Reese prepares for her third WNBA season, scheduled to begin in May pending ongoing CBA negotiations, she has also been making moves during the offseason.
Reese recently confirmed she will return to Unrivaled, the offseason 3-on-3 league that debuted last year. She has since played two games for Rose BC, including a nine-point, 15-rebound performance in Sunday’s 70-66 victory over the Laces that helped her team advance to the playoffs.

After the big win, Reese took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the milestone:
“I ain’t come here for nothing, I came with goals. But I know for sure I turned Miami back into your Super Bowl.”
Support soon poured in the comments from across the basketball community. Among the most notable reactions came from WNBA legend Lisa Leslie, who posted a simple message to Reese:
“Barbie’s Just Better💕💕.”
Leslie has been publicly supportive of Reese since her arrival in the WNBA, and has continued to offer praise and mentorship to the 23-year old.

This will mark Reese’s second consecutive participation in Unrivaled. In its inaugural season, Reese played a pivotal role for Rose Basketball Club, helping lead the team to a championship while earning Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Outside of basketball, Reese’s offseason has been equally eventful. She spent significant time during the offseason recovering from her injury to ensure she enters 2026 fully healthy and focused. In addition, she has pursued opportunities off the court, including modeling, podcasting and promoting her partnership with Reebok.
