It’s been more than nine years since Ronda Rousey has competed in MMA and even longer for Gina Carano, almost 17 years, but Rousey expects an all-time fight to unfold between them.
Rousey and Carano shocked the world last week when Most Valuable Promotions announced it’s hosting a Netflix live-streamed event headlined by the two women’s MMA legends May 16 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. In an episode of “MVP UNCUT” released Monday, Rousey revealed that the idea of the fight was first broached on the heels of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which also live-streamed on Netflix to a record viewing audience.

Rousey, 39, is hopeful that her megafight with Carano, 43, will have a similar impact, and she believes everyone who tunes in will be in for a treat.
“She’s going to go for it, and I’m going to go for it, and we’re just going to let it fly and show everybody the best fight that they’ve ever seen,” Rousey said. “Not best women’s fight, the best MMA fight they have ever seen.”
