In Monday night’s ACC Action, Louisville had a chance against UNC but couldn’t pull it off. The Cards had an early lead but Carolina took a 39-38 lead into halftime and then pushed out to a 56-40 lead not too far into the second half.
But Carolina again had trouble holding the lead. The Tar Heels were up 72-61 with 2:39 left but Louisville rallied and lost just 77-74.

Mikel Brown continues his roller-coaster return after his back injury, shooting just 9-25/6-14. As a whole, the Cards shot 26-67/14-39.
UNC shot much better, hitting 30-56/8-22. Henri Veesaar had 12 points but had just 2 rebounds after grabbing just 3 against Syracuse. It wasn’t fatal here but it could be against a team with more inside.
Seth Trimble had a career-high with 30, shooting 11-16/1-3.
Two games set for Tuesday as NC State travels to Virginia, which should be interesting, and Miami visits Florida State, which should also be fun.
Virginia keeps winning but they’ve been hot and cold, too. We wouldn’t rule out a State win, even with Virginia’s size advantage. We also wouldn’t rule out either team getting crushed. Keep in mind that Virginia hammered the Pack in Raleigh in early January.

Miami-Florida State could be great. Both teams are surging and are playing their best ball at the right time. That’s a game well worth watching and one that either team could win, though Miami has more to lose than the Seminoles do.
Both games should be fun.
