Indian youngster and opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal just dropped his biggest dream as a cricketer. The young cricketer is one of the most dynamic next-generation talents from the country. Though not yet a regular all-format cricketer, he has often been tipped to be one.
Young Yashasvi Jaiswal first got the limelight when he played a stunning hand for the Indian team during the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup in 2020. He finished as the highest run-scorer in that tournament and was also the Player of the tournament.
Though seen as an immediate prodigy for the red ball side, Jaiswal has proved over time and again that he is equally efficient in playing the two white-ball formats. However, ever since Abhishek Sharma’s induction, Jaiswal has been sidelined from the shortest format for India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal reveals his biggest dream as a cricketer
While India are now busy with their ICC T20 World Cup campaign, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was not picked for the competition, even as a reserve, was seen in an interview alongside legendary English batter Kevin Pietersen.
The left-handed star batter was asked about his biggest dream as a cricketer, to which he instantaneously replied, saying it was to win a World Cup for India. This might be one of the most obvious dreams for every cricketer who has donned that blue jersey.
“My dream is I want to win the World Cup for my country,” said Jaiswal, who was interrupted by Pietersen asking whether it matters if it is 50-overs or T20.
“Just a World Cup. In any game I am playing for my country, I want to make sure that I win the game for my team and my country. So that is my dream; whenever I go in, I should be the best person who can make a difference. I just try my best, and that is what motivates me the most,” Jasiwal added as a reply to Pietersen.
Yashasvi Jaiswal might be among the future Fab 4 batters in International cricket
Though Jaiswal just made his ODI debut a few games back and has also not had a long-standing career in the shortest format of the game, despite having played a very good part in India’s success in that format, he has often been backed as one of India’s future all-format stars.
Jasiwal is a regular part of the red-ball team. He has not missed out on any game for the Indian team in whites. Though consistency is yet to find him, he has scored runs across all venues in the World and has proved his calibre to dominate oppositions.
He has also been picked by cricket experts as the next generation Fab4 player on several occasions. He could be one alongside Shubman Gill, who could take Virat Kohli’s position in the list within the next few years.
Yashasvi’s International career so far
The 24-year-old cricketer has some remarkable numbers for India, especially in Test cricket and some great records for such a young cricketer. He has played in 28 Test matches in his career and has 2511 runs with a pile of 7 hundreds and several double hundreds as well.
His ODI debut came against South Africa in the ODI series last year, and in four matches, he scored his maiden hundred in the 50-over format. In a T20 career that has spanned between 2023 and 2024, he has amassed 723 runs in 23 matches with a century to his name in that format as well. He plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and has 2000+ runs in the IPL as well.
