Team India has already been dealing with problems with their performances in the 2026 T20 World Cup, especially with the batting. They have collapsed in almost every game and struggled on the slow pitches in India. India did not have the best of starts for the Super 8 campaign suffering a 76 run defeat against South Africa.

The Men in Blue will face Zimbabwe in their next game, ahead of the match Suryakumar Yadav’s side has once again been on the backfoot, as batter Rinku Singh, has rushed back to his home due to medical emergency. He was not even present during India’s practice session today.

India has been dealing with off field issues during the 2026 T20 World Cup, previously Abhishek Sharma was out with a stomach bug and missed a game against Namibia. With Rinku Singh back home India’s playing combination will once again be affected. As they might need to bring in Sanju Samson if Rinku does not feature.

Rinku Singh, has not been at his best of forms as he has played two good innings against Pakistan 11 off 4 and 6 off 3 balls against the Netherlands. He has been doing the finishing role for the side, and he has done it well. But in tough situations he has failed to build the innings.

India find the right combination against Zimbabwe

The majority of the emergency has not been confirmed yet, as the Men in Blue management will be hopeful that he returns before 26th February, Thursday, as the India National Cricket Team will face Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It is a must win game for the defending champions to keep their semi-finals hope alive.

India has been struggling on slower pitches and have had collapse in their batting and sits third in the Group 1 after their humiliating loss against the Proteas. The reigning champions after the loss need to win by big margins against the Chevrons and the West Indies, as the net run rate has gone down to negative.

India need to win by big margins

After the loss against Aiden Markram’s side India’s 17 consecutive win record in ICC white-ball tournament came to an end. It also ended the 12-match winning streak of the side in the T20 World Cups.

The Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan need to fire from the top and hope India posts a big total on board in their upcoming game midweek. They would also hope that South Africa win all their group matches so it will make easier for the Men in Blue side to qualify for the semi-finals as they just need to win two games.
