Lady Longhorns remain No. 4 in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

by

The top four teams in the USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll are entrenched. For five consecutive weeks, the top of the Top 25 ranking have remained the same. Those four teams are likely to be the No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament next month.

The Lady Longhorns remain No. 4, a key spot come Selection Sunday. Texas is behind No. 1 UConn, No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 is SEC rival South Carolina. The order has been unchanged since January.

The Horns had a perfect week, winning at Arkansas by 31 points and at Moody against Mississippi State by 50. That’s not a typo. But, the Huskies, Bruins and Gamecocks all went unbeaten this week too. For now, the poll is a holding pattern until the post season arrives.

There are 10 SEC teams in the Top 25. LSU and Vanderbilt sit right behind Texas. Big 12 rivals TCU and Texas Tech are also ranked.
