Michael Jordan's 23XI Racing team has suffered yet another blow in court that could seriously threaten his team's competitiveness in NASCAR.
According to NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass, 23XI and lawsuit partner Front Row Motorsports have been denied a rehearing to the reversal of an injunction that would allow them to compete as NASCAR charter members while their lawsuit was ongoing. As a result, the two teams could lose their NASCAR charters as early as the July 20 race at Dover Motor Speedway.
"23XI and Front Row have been denied a rehearing to the injunction reversal. So potentially could lose their charters effective for Dover," Pockrass wrote.

NASCAR fans have been fuming at NASCAR CEO Jim France over the entire charter system. Some are wondering if Jordan and his 23XI Racing partners may leave the sport entirely if things are going to be this difficult for them.
"Gotta love that France (expletive) money…. Charters were a great mistake in human existence and needs to be contracted… I wont be surprised if 23XI just walk out. You asked for this NASCAR. No wonder we don’t have full field of cars these days," one user wrote.
"I see 23XI and Front Row moving operations to other championships or something. They are now in very tough predicaments. IndyCar? GT? Overseas championships? Also IMSA? Maybe not because that's owned by NASCAR," wrote another.
"Let them take the charters and let Michael Jordan walk away… let's see what happens," a third dared.
Expecting Jordan to flat-out leave NASCAR might be a bridge too far. It seems more likely that 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports will simply have to renegotiate getting their charters back or have to qualify for entry into races by results while formulating a new strategy to move forward.
Jordan has invested far too much into his NASCAR team and enjoyed too much success to simply take his ball and go home. No pun intended.
That said, options are certainly aplenty if Jordan decides that the NASCAR money system is simply not working out for him. There are plenty of other fish in the sea if he wants to keep competing in pro motorsports.
