For the first time this fight week, the UFC 318 headliners got face to face ahead of their trilogy fight.

The UFC is back in New Orleans for the first time in more than 10 years for big card (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) Saturday at Smoothie King Center that will mark the retirement of a former interim champion and local favorite.

In the headliner, Max Holloway (26-8 MMA, 22-8 UFC) will try to play spoiler against Louisiana hero Dustin Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC), who will retire after the fight in front of his home fans. Poirier has two previous wins over Holloway in 2012 and 2019, making it a 13-year rivalry trilogy.

The fight also will be for the symbolic BMF belt that Holloway holds after his historic UFC 300 knockout of Justin Gaethje. Holloway is more than a 2-1 favorite in the fight.

Tuesday, Holloway, a former longtime featherweight champion, and Poirier stared each other down in the French Quarter in the iconic Jackson Square on Decatur Street. Check out the video of their faceoff below.
