Kyle Schwarber All-Star bat goes to Hall of Fame

seems to have a magic bat when the spotlight is brightest. Whether it’s his numerous big hits for the Phillies or his .906 career postseason OPS, the All-Star lefty masher swings a mighty stick.

The Baseball Hall of Fame seems to agree. And for the second time in his career, Schwarber will have some All-Star lumber on display in Cooperstown.

This time, it’s the bat he used Tuesday night in Atlanta to club three clutch home runs to decide the first swing-off in All-Star Game history and give the NL just its second Midsummer Classic win in the past 12 seasons.

If this all sounds a little familiar, it’s because it comes 10 years after the Hall of Fame got another of Schwarber’s bats — the one he used to club a two-run go-ahead triple and win MVP of the 2015 Futures Game in Cincinnati.

With Schwarber taking MVP honors in Tuesday’s All-Star Game at Truist Park, he became just the second player to win a Futures Game MVP and an All-Star Game MVP, following Alfonso Soriano in 1999 and 2004, respectively.

The lesson: When there’s a collection of All-Stars on the field and the game’s on the line, you want the bat in Schwarber’s hands. And you never know, the bat might just end up in the Hall of Fame.
