One of wrestling’s most legendary production minds is back—and this time, he’s linking up with Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan.
David Sahadi, known for his iconic production work with WWE and TNA Wrestling, is officially joining the creative force behind Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF). Sahadi made the announcement himself on his live podcast Behind The Lens, confirming he’s been working with Bischoff on RAF’s production since early May.
“I am both honored and humbled that Eric chose me to head up the production for RAF’s first-ever live event in Cleveland on August 30,” Sahadi said during the show. “We have assembled the greatest production team in combat fights to present civilization’s oldest sport in a unique, modern and creative way with state-of-the-art technology. It’s going to be fascinating!”
Sahadi also spoke about how the project immediately drew him in:
“When Eric first called and described his vision for how he wanted to present free style wrestling to a bigger audience, I was enthralled. I truly believe Eric’s vision will appeal to not only the purist of free-style fans, but a main-stream audience as well. It will be captivating!”
What made the announcement even more powerful was the emotional journey Sahadi shared, reflecting on his exit from WWE and his final moments with the McMahon family.
“Nearly three decades ago when I was working at the WWF and Eric Bischoff was breaking new ground with WCW Nitro and kicking our asses in the ratings, he was perceived as ‘the evil one’, the enemy. Now I have the privilege of working with Eric, who I think has a brilliant mind and is a master of many things.”
He broke down while recalling his goodbyes at WWE, especially with Linda McMahon. Though he never got to thank Vince McMahon in person, he read an open letter on air that ended with one powerful memory:
“Thank you Vince. You once said, ‘David, FLY!’”
With Sahadi now onboard and RAF’s first event set for August 30 in Cleveland, this new promotion isn’t just making noise—it’s pulling from wrestling’s deepest creative roots.
