Check out this week’s “Spinning Back Clique,” MMA Junkie’s weekly live show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.

This week’s panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Farah Hannoun and Danny Segura will join host “Gorgeous” George Garcia live at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) to discuss and debate the following topics:

  • Max Holloway played spoiler in Dustin Poirier’s goodbye from MMA competition. “Blessed” defeated “The Diamond” by unanimous decision this past Saturday in the main event of UFC 318. It was a fun, action-packed fight, which saw Holloway complete his first defense of the “Baddest Motherf*cker” title. Where does Holloway go from here? What did we think of Poirier’s retirement, along with the UFC’s efforts to make it special? We break down all things regarding the UFC 318 main event.
  • Outside the headlining bout, other key results unfolded at UFC 318. We saw Paulo Costa get back to his winning ways, outpointing Roman Kopylov. Additionally, veterans Patricio Freire and Michael Johnson outpointed their respective younger opposition, and Brendan Allen outslugged Marvin Vettori in a Fight of the Night, among other key results. We recap the results from UFC 318 outside the main event.
  • UFC wasn’t the only promotion in business this past Saturday. PFL hosted PFL Cape Town, which saw one of the promotion’s biggest names, Johnny Eblen, lose his middleweight title in shocking fashion to Costello Van Steenis. This card also saw Dakota Ditcheva put on a striking clinic on Sumiko Inaba, and A.J. McKee outpoint Akhmed Magomedov, among other results. We recap the PFL’s trip to Cape Town.
  • The news cycle never sleeps in MMA. This past week, Diego Sanchez was arrested for gun charges in New Mexico, Sean Strickland was suspended by the NAC for an out-of-competition incident with a fellow fighter, and a few fights were booked, including Toney Ferguson’s boxing bout against Salt Papi. We react to some of the big headlines this past week.
  • Lastly, we look ahead to this Saturday’s UFC on ABC 9 event in Abu Dhabi, which features a middleweight headliner between former UFC champion Robert Whittaker and Reinier de Ridder. We take a look at what’s at stake in this bout and how it could affect the 185-pound division, plus each panelist shares their prediction for the outcome. We also highlight other prominent bouts on the card.
