Team India captain Shubman Gill has opened up about recent on-field incidents between the two teams in the ongoing Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy in England. Gill also stated that there were no on-field tensions between the sides and described the relationship among players as “fantastic.”

At a press conference on the eve of the Oval Test, Shubman Gill spoke about on-field flare-ups between India and England players during the ongoing Test series. He emphasized that such incidents are a natural part of competitive cricket and added that the relationship is fantastic.

“The relationship is fantastic. When you’re on the field, you’re trying to win; both teams have been very competitive and sometimes in the heat of the moment things happen. But once the match is over there is mutual respect, so there are no regrets for anything that has happened on the field,” Shubman said at the pre-match perss conference.
Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley Involved in Heated Exchange at Lord’s
The Test series between India and England has been filled with heated moments, keeping fans engaged. Shubman Gill had a verbal spat with Zak Crawley at Lord’s, accusing him of deliberately wasting time. Tensions between the two sides have continued to rise as the series has progressed.
Another incident took place at Old Trafford, where Ravindra Jadeja refused to end play early on the final day despite visible frustration from the opposition. Jadeja, along with Washington Sundar, completed his century before the pair walked off the field.

When asked whether matches going down to the final session had escalated tensions between India and England, Shubman Gill dismissed the idea. He said there were no emotions carried over from previous encounters.
“Not really. Once you’re done with the match, you move on to the next one and want to play as competitively and as well as you can,” Gill said.
“For us, it doesn’t really matter what happened in the last match, good or bad. Whatever happened in the last game is gone. We want to move on and perform our best in the next one,” he added.
