Michael Phelps to Teach Baltimore Ravens to Swim

Michael Phelps is giving back to the swim community by teaching a group of adults to swim – in the NFL.

Phelps agreed to teach the Baltimore Ravens how to swim.

The 23-time Olympic gold medalist is a Baltimore native and big Ravens fan.

Players from the Ravens reached out to Phelps on Tuesday, when cornerback Marlon Humphrey posted a video on social media asking Phelps for his help.

Humphrey appeared in a video on social media in the team’s pool, along with Ravens teammates Ronnie Stanley, Kyle Hamilton and Charlie Kolar, announcing that one out of three Ravens players didn’t know how to swim.

Humphrey wrote on Instagram: “We got a problem that only @m_phelps00 can fix! From the #RavensAquaticsTeam”

Phelps replied: “I got yall!!! Let’s do it!!”

The most decorated Olympian in history, with 28 medals, has been involved with the Ravens over the years, leading the team onto the field, delivering the game ball to the referees and speaking to the team. Phelps spent much of his career training at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club.

Phelps retired after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. It was his fifth Olympiad, following appearances in Sydney, Athens, Beijing and London.
