And a few days later, the Mercury return home for a four-game homestand, the longest of the season.

Against the Sky, the Mercury have a chance to take the season series after going 2-0 in the last two meetings. The teams haven’t met since the Mercury hit 17 3-pointers in the 107-86 blowout on June 21 in Chicago.
The Sky remain one of the teams vying for a lottery pick, but forward Angel Reese has been enjoying a big season with 16 double-doubles in 22 games. The current WNBA single-season record for double-doubles is held by Alyssa Thomas, who recorded 28 in 2023.
The Mercury will host the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 5 at PHX Arena at 7 p.m. The two teams last met in Connecticut on June 18, where the Mercury won 83-75.
The homestand continues on Aug. 7, with the Indiana Fever and the possible return of Caitlin Clark.

The meeting also marks the return of former Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham after she was traded in the offseason. Cunningham spent her first six seasons with the Mercury and gained attention during the 2021 WNBA Finals run with 21 points in the first-round knockout game against the New York Liberty.
With the Fever, Cunningham has averaged 7.5 points and 1.5 3-pointers off the bench.
All games will be shown locally on Arizona’s Family 3TV and Arizona’s Family Sports.
