The Michigan Wolverines have defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes in four consecutive seasons, winning three Big Ten Championships and a National Championship during that span.

The Wolverines’ recent wins over the Buckeyes have coincided with improved play in the secondary led by former players and current NFL defenders Mike Sainristil, Will Johnson and others.
Late Wednesday night, the Wolverines received word of a special visitor for this year’s game who could bolster the team’s secondary for many years to come.
“4-star safety Gavin Williams tells me that he is set to visit Michigan on November 30th for the Ohio State game,” Rivals recruiting insider Aidan Sen wrote on X.

“Williams, out of La Verne (Cal.) Damien, is the No. 154 overall 2027 recruit and No. 13 SAF (safety),” Sen added.
Williams is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound safety who has offers from fellow Big Ten power USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, Oregon, Ohio State, Syracuse, Michigan State, Florida State, Maryland and others.
He has an undisclosed NIL value at this time according to Rivals.com but is expected to become one of the most highly sought after defensive backs by the time the recruiting season is over.

Michigan has one hard commitment for the Class of 2027 so far, offensive lineman Louis Esposito, the son of Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito.
