Tom Brady's shocking attack on Scottie Scheffler

by

Tom Brady, considered the greatest player in NFL history, criticized golfer Scottie Scheffler, the PGA Tour's number one, on Wednesday for prioritizing his family over his athletic career.

"Scottie said he'd rather be a better father and husband than a good golfer. I believe that by prioritizing my profession and leading by example, I was doing the best for my family. Part of being a great father is setting a great example of doing what's necessary to take care of your family. I chose to do that by playing football," the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback stated on his website tombrady.com.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion (six with the Pats and one with the Bucs), spoke about what his priorities should be in life and questioned whether Scheffler, winner of two majors this year and world number one for 150 weeks, has his priorities straight.

"It's the question Scottie Scheffler seems to grapple with: Do I have my priorities straight? Finding the answer is simple. When the priority is taking care of your career, whether it's a training camp or four rounds of golf in a major championship, that's what you do. When it's time to get down to business, work becomes your priority," the former quarterback explained.

According to the five-time Super Bowl MVP, family and work, although they are different blocks, are part of the pyramid of life.

"The two are connected. Why are they mutually exclusive? My dedication to the sport, the hours of training, the moments of total focus—those were times when I believe I was doing the best for my family and my children," he emphasized.

Tom Brady, future Pro Football Hall of Famer, reiterated the importance of his time in the NFL in becoming a role model for his children.

"Remember, your children see everything. Reading to them before bed and helping them with homework isn't the only way to be a good father, any more than winning Super Bowls or MVPs is. Being a great football player didn't make me a great father, but how I became a great player certainly played a role because it helped me do what it took to improve, succeed, and be a role model," concluded the current minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
