Bam Adebayo discussed the Miami Heat’s offseason acquisitions, approving the front office’s moves to shake up the roster.
βItβs a very good shake up for our team and now thereβs a different dynamic to it,β Adebayo said on Saturday.
The Heat added Simone Fontecchio, Kasparas Jakucionis and Norm Powell this summer, getting rid of Kyle Anderson, Alec Burks, Kevin Love and Duncan Robinson.
Adebayo added that he looks forward to sharing the court with Powell.
βI feel like Norman is one of those guys that floats under the radar,β said Adebayo. βBut as you saw this year, heβs really shown that he can be an All-Star caliber player. Youβve seen what heβs done and youβve seen him grow in this league. And, obviously, he wants to take the next challenge.”
The Heat also retained Davion Mitchell on a two-year, $24 million deal.Β
Mitchell averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 30 regular-season games with the Heat.
βDavion being back, obviously, weβve been missing somebody that can really play on-ball defense,β Adebayo said. βAnd having him come in and be that guy and understand his role, Iβm looking forward to him being here for a full year and all of us being together and getting to know one another and turning this into more of a brotherhood.”
