Jannik Sinner skipped the Toronto Masters 1000 to recover all his strength after the Wimbledon Championships, where he made the history of Italian tennis by lifting the trophy and winning the fourth Major title of his young career. The world No.1 has shown his incredible mental strength once again, considering how heartbroken he was after his atrocious defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final just weeks earlier.
The Italian ace took revenge over his top rival and retained chances of maintaining the first position in the ATP rankings, although he will have to defend many more points than Carlitos between now and the end of the season. The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria has already lost the 200 points obtained in Montreal last year and will have to achieve a brilliant result at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, scheduled from 7 to 18 August. Jannik had lifted the trophy in Ohio in 2024, at the end of a run full of difficulties and conditioned by the imminent ruling relating to his doping case.
Sinner has arrived in Cincinnati
After spending the holidays in Sesto Pusteria and then in Sardinia, the four-time Grand Slam champion practiced hard in Monte Carlo and has already arrived in Cincinnati. The defending champion already did his first practice session in Ohio this morning and will have time to get used to the conditions in the best possible way.

The Italian star will have a bye in the first round and will make his debut directly in the second round, which is why he will have almost a week to practice with maximum effort. It is no secret that his main goal at this stage of his season is the US Open, where he had prevailed in the last edition thanks to a series of performances at the limits of perfection. He will also play the mixed doubles tournament in New York together with Emma Navarro.
