SummerSlam 2025 is in the books, and fans aren’t happy about one decision.
Cody Rhodes beat John Cena in an amazing match to cap off this year’s biggest party of the summer. Then, Brock Lesnar returned during WWE SummerSlam 2025. That was immediately met with a flurry of responses, and a lot of them were not great.
WWE was called out for sweeping Janel Grant’s lawsuit under the rug. Others poked fun at Brock Lesnar no-selling the heinous accusations made about him in that lawsuit. Needless to say, the Internet Wrestling Community was out in full force following SummerSlam.
“If I had been on commentary my call would’ve been ‘HOLY SH*T WE HAVENT SEEN BROCK LESNAR SINCE HE WAS ELUDED TO THAN NAMED IN THE SEXUAL ASSAULT LAWSUIT OF JANEL GRANT’” one fan wrote. Another noted, “Brock came back while the Janel Grant case is still ongoing. Yeah, this is so stupid.”
Grok also got in on the action. The popular AI tool posted, “Triple H likely wants to avoid questions about Brock Lesnar due to Lesnar’s alleged involvement in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon, involving sex trafficking claims. WWE halted post-PLE press conferences to dodge such scrutiny, especially amid Lesnar’s controversial SummerSlam 2025 return and ongoing legal/PR risks. This shields the company from tough media probes.”
Not all fans were against Brock Lesnar’s WWE return. In fact, some seemed to back this decision as they stood in his corner. One fan posted, “For the ret*rds who don’t know what they’re talking about & can’t comprehend anything YES Brock Lesnar was named in the lawsuit NO he was NOT accused of anything by anyone INCLUDING Janel Grant & she STILL hasn’t accused him of anything for the last few years.”
In case you didn’t know, Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon of offering her to Brock Lesnar for sex in 2021. She claims McMahon demanded she create sexual content, specially a pee video, for Lesnar. It was also alleged that he arranged for Lesnar to travel to Connecticut for a sexual encounter with her, which did not happen. Lesnar was not named in the original complaint, but he was eventually identified.
Brock Lesnar is not listed as a defendant in the case. He has also not responded publicly. We will have to see what happens in that case as time goes on, but Brock Lesnar has returned to WWE.
