William Byron moved back into the NASCAR Cup Series points lead after his win in the Iowa Corn 350 on August 3 at Iowa Speedway.
Byron also benefitted from finishes outside of the top 10 by regular-season title contenders Chase Elliott (14th), Denny Hamlin (24th) and Kyle Larson (28th).
Near the cutline, Ryan Preece cut into Chris Buescher’s advantage for the final playoff spot with three races remaining in the regular season.
