Texas A&M set to be featured on SEC Netflix documentary releasing Tuesday

by

The Texas A&M football program is set to be featured on the Netflix documentary “Any Given Saturday” on its release Tuesday, which highlights teams from across the Southeastern Conference from the 2024-2025 season.

In the latest teaser on Thursday, July 31, the show will feature sit-down interviews with head coach Mike Elko and former Aggie and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Several notable conference foes opted out of being followed last season, including Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Missouri and Ole Miss.

The eight-episode series produced by Box To Box Films will showcase an inside look at SEC programs and the pageantry of gamedays across the league. Texas A&M’s appearance in the new series marks the second time that the Maroon and White have been highlighted on Netflix, joining the “Untold: Johnny Football” documentary.

In a statement following the announcement of the SEC series in 2024, league commissioner Greg Sankey discussed what it means to have the conference on the worldwide stage.

“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” Sankey said. “Football in the SEC will be presented in a way never seen before through the elite storytelling skills of Box To Box, the content studio that has produced numerous award-winning Netflix docuseries. We are excited about this new delivery of content for SEC fans everywhere.”

The unfiltered access on the buses, in locker rooms, film sessions and more will place a tremendous spotlight on the day-to-day operations of the most competitive conference in college football, becoming the first of its kind.

Last year’s campaign for the Aggies was the first with Elko at the helm in Bryan-College Station, Texas, in which the program finished with an 8-5 (5-3 in SEC) overall record. Elko’s efforts in his first season coaching the Maroon and White marked the first season with eight wins or more for Texas A&M since 2021.

His defensive expertise also helped send three defensive linemen to the NFL, as Nic Scourton, Shemar Turner and Shemar Stewart all were selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Current Aggies like linebacker Taurean York, EDGE Cashius Howell and defensive back Will Lee III are projected to be the next Texas A&M defensive talent to be potential draft picks in 2026.

The documentary will release on Tuesday, Aug. 5, exclusively on Netflix, and will feature Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
