Stephanie White Hits Fever With Harsh Reality Despite Win Against Wings originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever made it four straight wins on Friday night as they took down Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a road game at American Airlines Center, 88-78.
The Fever scored another win despite the extended absence of their star player, Caitlin Clark, who was forced to sit out for a sixth consecutive contest on Friday due to a re-aggravated groin injury.

Fever Coach Stephanie White Reacts to Win Against Wings
Indiana head coach Stephanie White spoke to reporters after the win, and, as always, the veteran coach kept it real with her postgame comments.
White praised her players after the victory, but she also revealed how she wasnβt exactly blown away by their overall performance in the game.
βI didn’t feel like we played particularly well tonight,β White said, via Chloe Peterson of Indy Star.
βBut, you know, finding ways to get wins, and that’s going on some scoring bursts, that’s being able to rely on multiple players getting stops when needed, making adjustments and continuing to grow. I mean, this is a group that’s been resilient all season long.β

Despite her blunt reality check, White still highlighted what she liked from her players in this one. The 48-year-old is never shy to call it as it is, but sheβs also consistent in giving credit when it is due.
Fever Turn in Concerted Effort vs. Wings
Four out of five starters scored in double figures for Indiana on Friday night. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting, three rebounds, three assists and three triples.

Natasha Howard (11 points, 16 rebounds) and Aliyah Boston (12 points, 11 rebounds) both double-doubled for the Fever frontcourt. Aari McDonald, who has been Clarkβs replacement in the starting lineup, kept her foot on the gas with 15 points and six assists.
On the defensive end, the Fever held the Wings to just 40.6% shooting overall and 13.3% from beyond the arc. Only Bueckers (22) scored more than nine points for Dallas.
Whatβs Next for Fever?
Indiana gets just one day off before it returns to action on Sunday against the Seattle Storm. Thatβs going to be the second contest of their current four-game road trip, which also includes matchups against the Los Angeles Sparks and the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

As of writing, the Fever have not confirmed Clarkβs status for the Storm game on Sunday. However, given how she currently has no timetable for her return, itβs unlikely that she will be able to suit up against Seattle.
