Roman Reigns didn’t walk out of Barclays Center the same way he came in — and not just because of the beating he took.
The August 4 WWE RAW kicked off with Seth Rollins celebrating his controversial World Heavyweight Championship win at SummerSlam, where he cashed in Money in the Bank on CM Punk after faking a knee injury. Rollins’ promo was cut short when LA Knight made a surprise return to challenge him for the title. While Rollins initially turned it down, Adam Pearce later made the match official and banned Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker from ringside.
The main event between Rollins and Knight delivered until CM Punk stormed the ring and went right after the champion, leading to a disqualification. Knight tried to pull Punk off, but the brawl only escalated when Bron Breakker appeared out of nowhere with a spear. Big Bronson Reed soon joined in, and the faction now known as The Vision overwhelmed both Knight and Punk.
That’s when Roman Reigns hit the ring, briefly gaining the upper hand before the numbers caught up to him. Reed delivered multiple Tsunamis before stealing Reigns’ shoes — the second time in recent weeks he’s swiped the Tribal Chief’s footwear.
The show ended with The Vision standing tall in the ring. Afterward, LA Knight and CM Punk kept arguing as officials tried to separate them. Roman Reigns refused assistance, slowly making his way out of the arena looking exhausted and defeated.
Will Roman Reigns get payback on The Vision for the beating — and the stolen sneakers — or is this the beginning of a much bigger fight? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
