Peoria Richwoods grad signs 7-day contract with WNBA team

Former Richwoods standout Camryn Taylor is back in the WNBA.

The 6-foot-2 forward signed a seven-day contract Friday with the Minnesota Lynx. Taylor was on the Minnesota team’s training camp roster in both 2024 and 2025.

The Peoria native most recently played for Esperides Kallitheas in the Greek A1 Basketball League, averaging 19.6 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 42.3% from the floor in 31.6 minutes per game.

She was a four-year varsity player at Richwoods and was part of the Knights’ IHSA Class 3A state championship team in her junior season. She was Journal Star girls basketball Player of the Year in 2018 and was named first-team all-state by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and The Associated Press her final two seasons.

Taylor went on to play at Marquette for two seasons, then finished the next three seasons with Virginia.
