Mercedes Moné Tells AEW Wrestlers Who Don’t Want to Grow to Get Out

by

Mercedes Moné came to AEW to make sure everyone in the company gets better, which is why she just told AEW wrestlers who don’t want to grow to just leave the company.

While speaking on the Marking Out podcast, MVP said that in AEW there are many wrestlers who feel they have something to prove, and he respects that energy. Even if he doesn’t always agree with how some younger wrestlers show it, he still values their passion. He added that if someone doesn’t have that same drive, they shouldn’t be in AEW, then asked Mercedes Moné if she agreed.

“At AEW, you have a lot of people that feel they have a lot to prove, and you can feel that, and I respect that. I might not necessarily agree with how some of the younger talent want to go about expressing that, but I appreciate their desire to express it. And if you don’t have that, you shouldn’t be here. Would you agree with that?”

Mercedes Moné agreed. She said that if someone in AEW doesn’t love wrestling, isn’t willing to work hard, or doesn’t want to get better, they should get out. Keeping a spot without that effort takes chances away from other talented wrestlers who are ready to work for it.

“I totally agree. If you don’t love it, if you don’t want to even try or grow or be the best, get the f*** out. Can I say that? Get out. Get the f*** out. Get the f*** out, because there’s so much talent that want the opportunity in that spot. So, give it to them.”

The CEO of AEW made it clear this wasn’t aimed at one person, but a message that AEW should be filled with people who truly want to help it grow. After all, AEW has the tagline of “Where the best wrestle,” so it’s obvious Mercedes wants to make sure AEW only has those kinds of people in the end.

Do you agree with Mercedes Moné’s blunt message to the AEW locker room? Sound off in the comments.
